Would I Change It?

It’s been 15 years since I started my journey into working for myself.  Fifteen years of excitement, worry, fun, laughter and hard work.

Would I change it?

Now there is a question!

Sometimes, if I’m honest, yes I would.  I’d love the security of a job, one that paid me at the end of the month, that gave me a pension, sick pay and regular hours. I’d love for someone else to take responsibility for the outcome and to be able to go home at the end of the day and just be.

( Side Note: I do know there are many employed people out there who still carry the worry of work with them 24 hours a day, in reality, though it’s not the same as having your own business).

And then I think…on no, then I’d lose all this ability to be creative, to set my work hours to suit my family and to have the freedom to choose.

I have learned so much more than I think I ever would had I stayed employed.

But it’s been damn hard and unless you have experienced it, from the outside it might look like it’s easy.

I guess what it’s taught me is that you can learn anything if you focus your mind.  You are much stronger and more resilient than you ever knew and tomorrow is another day!!

This Pandemic period has been really tough, leaving my studio, losing half of my clients and doing everything on Zoom had taken it’s toll and there have been times when my confidence has disappeared.  It’s been easy to start to question what is it that I actually do?

Fundamentally, I help people to feel better about themselves and about their lives.  

I listen, I give them space, I allow them to be themselves and to learn to love who they are.

Health underpins everything and for me that means physically, mentally and emotionally.

I designed my 5 Day challenge as a simple tool to start you on the way to feeling better, to gaining more confidence, to taking back control of your life.  Because, the biggest thing these past 15 yeast has taught me is that I AM THE ONLY ONE WHO CAN CHANGE THE WAY I FEEL!

I joined Lisa’s Saturday gym class as the typical unfit overweight 50 year old. I have really enjoyed the last two years, gaining fitness and flexibility and losing weight! I used to hate going to the gym, but the Saturday gym with Lisa is fun and very social and the hour seems to go by very quickly. A great way to tone up, get the heart going and keep healthy!
