Horsted Keynes Fun Run 2014

Horsted Keynes Fun Run – June 20th 2014

Amazingly we had brilliant weather again for this year’s annual Fun Run event in Horsted Keynes and it certainly bought out the families in the village and surrounding areas.

The event took place on the Recreation ground this year ( we were a bit worried about children running over the road ) rather than the village green and we set up to field ready for the children’s races, the adults 4.2 mile open race and a new event this year, some sponsored 4 x 100m relays!

Fit For Moore took some time at the start of each race to encourage the children to warm up and there were smiles all round as can be seen in the photo’s in our gallery.  Medals were awarded for the first three in each race and for all competitors in the relays.

This year Clive Turner managed to come first again in the men’s race but Sarah Webster was pipped at the post this year by Sam who had been rumoured to be very fast!!

With the barbeque, Old- fashioned swing boats and bouncy castle there was something for everyone and a big thank you needs to go out the members of the St Giles PTA for all their hard-work at the event.

In total we raised £1110 for the Friends of St Giles school.  We shall be looking at ordering the new ‘ going-away ‘ PE kit for the children, sponsored by Fit For Moore.

Next year we may add in an option to walk as well as run many people have commented that if they didn’t have to run then they’d love to join in.

Now that I am where I want to be it is important that I maintain th
